Baby Dracaena

Many moons ago, my in-laws gave us a gift basket of plants to celebrate the birth of our son. I brought the plant to my office to make my cubicle more enjoyable and it survived despite some extended vacations where I forgot to tell some coworkers to water it, or the small original pot it outgrew.

Last March, we started working from home, and I was fortunate to be able to take my plants home with me. Javagrrl noticed the plant had outgrown its pot and she repotted it to a larger one. It now looks great it my home office.

When the in-laws came to visit shortly after my son was born, they gave us some plants.

During my weekly watering, I noticed something new growing. After all these years, a Dracaena sprout appeared.

Now that my son is off to college, the Dracaena sprouted a baby

With a small spoon, I dug down a bit thru the soil and snipped the sprout off the parent plant and put it in some water in order for some roots to grow before repotting and giving it to my daughter.

Will let some roots grow before potting
